| 5:45 pm | Lately Josie likes to play Blind Horsie, where she rides on my shoulders with her hands over my eyes, and I'm supposed to sprint through the house as fast as I can. Fortunately she doesn't know just how fast I can run, so a relatively moderate jog seems to suffice. And somehow, I can't imagine how, I inevitably tumble her right into a pile of pillows. Weird, that. |

| 4:27 am | I've got a cane to match my brother's from a wickedly broken leg that they had a little trouble setting, probably because my mother messed with it before we went to hospital. Love my mother, and I'm the one who didn't want to go to hospital, but still. It'll heal, but I'm housebound for a few weeks or so. I knew some of the people who died. Aidan was my cousin's husband. Izzy was in my house and year at Hogwarts, and while we weren't friends because I'm not a friendly sort of bloke, I did know her. And I knew Phillip through the music scene. It's only just starting to sink in that they're all gone, and I can't even imagine how much worse it must be for their loved ones. |

| 11:13 pm | Why did I invite a bird into my house? WHY did I invite a WILD BIRD into my house? It's nesting on top of the grandfather clock and Spam bit me when I tried to shoo her out of the room just to stop the barking. We have a literal cuckoo clock now, and when I told Lux to get the broom, my wife full-on tackled me to the ground to prevent me from shooing the bird out to the nice warm birdhouse I just bought it. Marriage is not for the faint of heart. I love you, Bex. Where are the damn Band-Aids? |
